Baby Room
Our Baby Room can take children from 3 months of age up to 18 months of age. Every child’s journey is individual to them; from feeding arrangements, nap times and comforters our highly qualified team have the experience and understanding to reassure our newest parents. Our Baby Room offers a ‘homely environment’ for your child to establish strong, early relationships and connections.
Through active exploration within our stimulating learning areas, your child can develop their early motor skills and physically push themselves within our physical development space; inside and outside.
Our Baby Room comes complete with a sleep and sensory room, providing very young children with this calm space supports their ability to adapt to life at our nursery. Focusing on the sensory needs of a young child helps to establish and stimulate a child’s brain growth and connections; leveraging positive, age appropriate development.
At Cottontails we believe in the use of Makaton to support the development of early language and communication within our nursery. Our team provide parent support and regular communications to support the delivery of these skills at home too!
Communicating with our parents is key to establishing strong relationships. Our Nursery management system allows parents to communicate directly with their child’s carer. Information from toileting habits, meal intake and learning experiences are all recorded on our online system – direct at parent’s finger-tips. Using this system allows our parents to be more involved within their child’s time at Nursery, supporting positive relationships between you and those who care for your child.
Starting Nursery is a nervous time for all involved. Our staff take the time to get to know you and your child through stay and play sessions and a graduated integration into nursery. We understand that every child is different and taking the time to get to know your child is essential to the success of their entry into nursery.
As a community nursery, involving parents and families within nursery life has been part of our practise for over 20 years! Holding events from parent’s evenings, community open days and craft fayres to graduation ceremonies and sports day, performances and coffee and tea mornings. We value our community and those who live here. Instilling these community values within the everyday life of the nursery will provide lasting memories for our children that will help to shape their values and identity as an adult.
Widening the experiences for our children extends to life outside of the nursery. Even our babies get to experience trips and walks within our local community, developing their understanding of the world in which we live.
